11.01.2012 - Usain Bolt to run 100m at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games – Samsung Diamond League

The triple World record holder, Usain Bolt, will be competing in the ExxonMobil Bislett Games on 7th June in Oslo, Norway in the 100 metres.
The meeting in Oslo is one of 14 Samsung Diamond League meets in 2012 and the first in which Bolt has confirmed his participation.

It started to rain around 9:25 pm, and it was a heavy rain which lasted for the rest of the meet. In these adverse weather conditions, Men’s Javelin Throw finished with a big surprise.

Home town hero Andreas Thorkildson, injured, wasn’t at the start, and everybody expected a win of Finnish Tero Pitkämäki who was first at the Bislett Games in 2005, 2007 and 2009. But the 2007 World Champion finished in fifth spot (80.22m) and far away from the winner. more

09.06.2011 - 7.48pm – Shot Put Women with Stadium record

2.00 hours, and it will be time for the highlight of the evening, the 200m men with Jamaica’s superstar Usain Bolt. At 7.30pm, he entered the stadium saying: “I will try my best”.

He took a look at Marcus Hellner and Petter Northug jr. on their rollerskis and said: “I have never been on skis, and I think they are better on snow.” Both were introduced to Bolt, pictures were taken. Then, Bolt gave “High Fives” to the girls of the Opening Show and left to prepare for his race. more

4.07 hours until Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, will appear. A great evening of World Class Track and Field competitions is about to begin. The stadium is still more or less empty, but the Press Room is already filled.

More than 100 photographers and journalists have been accredited, more than 200 people from different television stations are on site. more
