07.06.2012 - Usain Bolt to compete at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games – Samsung Diamond League

The world’s greatest sports star will run at the Bislett Stadium for the third year in a row. Usain Bolt will return to Oslo, Norway and the ExxonMobil Bislett Games on Thursday 13 June 2013 where he will be competing in the 200metres.

The meeting in Oslo is the sixth of the 14 meets in the world athletics series, the Samsung Diamond League. more

07.06.2012 - 3000m steeple chase: World Lead, Meet Record and African Record.

The women's steeple chase in Oslo turned out to be a fast race. The winner was Milcah Chemos of Kenya in 9:07.14 and also the two Ethiopians in second and third place was well below the previous world lead time, 9:09.

e won in Oslo in 2003. He won again in 2009. And here he was, back again: Kenenisa Bekele. Once again the 29-year old was the favorite for the men’s 5000m but as it turned out he couldn’t perform as expected.

In the end of the long race fellow Ethiopian Dejen Gebremeskel was the winner – with a time of 12:58.92. "Very satisfied wiht the race, fast time and Olympic qualification. Why not go for a medal in London? And yes we are the new generation of Ethiopian runners. more

His tight schedule before the Bislett Games allowed just a short stop at this years edition of the “Race Against Malaria” but the fastest man alive made sure he made the most out of it – for the charity runners and for the hundreds of spectators waiting along Karl Johans Gate. more
